April 2023

The month of April has been busy around Montessori & Music Daycare Center. In this month we have recognized Passover, Easter, Ramadan, and Orthodox Easter. This is the result of having such cultural diversity represented in our daycare center. The many languages and cultures make up an international essence in the hallways of the daycare.

This month, the children experienced Easter egg hunting; some of them for the first time. They are still trying to figure out how the Easter Bunny came inside the center, leaving all of those eggs.

They celebrated Earth Day in the Primary 1 & 2 classes, learning about the continents and how we need to take action to care for our earth.

This past week was National Library Week. The children learned about the library and how to check a book out. Some classes even made their very own library card. On Wednesday, the children dressed up like their favorite book character. They had so much fun in their classrooms reading the books they brought from home. To top the week off, the Primary 1 & 2 classrooms had a guest author visit the rooms to read to them. Children’s author, Brad Malm visited these classes and read his book, The Amazing Adventures of Oliver the Wonder Dog. Mr. Brad visited the classes, read to them, answered their questions, and showed them pictures of Oliver, the real dog featured in his book. Mr. Brad has a daughter who attends our daycare, so he brought his wife and daughter with him. We thank Mr. Brad for coming to read to our Primary 1 & 2 classes.

April was a fun month of learning and celebration!
