Happy Fall!  We finally have fall like weather and everyone seems to be enjoying the cooler days.  We are no exception.  Of course, for the children the big day they are looking forward to is the Halloween party.  It seems they all want to discuss what they are going to be when they go trick-or-treating and just how much candy they are going to receive.  We will have many princesses and super heroes in the building that day.  It brings such joy watching them in their world of make believe. 

We will start October off by bringing awareness to Fire Prevention Week.  We will have our monthly fire drill and discuss fire safety.  I have already heard someone talk about Stop, Drop, and Roll.  This is an important week to teach safety to children and their families.

The children will participate in pajama day at the beginning of the month.  We encourage them to bring a favorite book to read and share with the class.  Promoting a love for books is a strong emphasis here at MMDC.  We provide them opportunity daily to read and look at books that will take them to places only found in a good book.

We will end the month with pumpkin decorating day and a Halloween party.  Each class will celebrate in their own way, but we will have a parade of costumes for all of the children to enjoy that day.  This is something we all look forward to each year.  Happy Halloween!
