August 2025

It is a time of change here at Montessori & Music Daycare Center.  August is always a bittersweet time when we see several children leave for kindergarten.  Many of them have been in the daycare since being a few months old and have promoted to every class in our program.  While we hate to see them go, it is with great pride that we see them walk out our doors for the last time. We know that all of the teachers have worked hard to prepare them socially, cognitively, and developmentally for this very moment.  So, as they leave our program, we wish them well as they begin kindergarten.  Good luck to our kindergarteners!

Wednesday, August 20^th will mark the last day of Summer Camp 2025.  We have enjoyed so many fun activities.  Over the past few weeks, we enjoyed a magic show, a reptile show, bicycle days, water days, a visit from Spiderman, a bubble party, a bounce house, a foam party, a field trip to Lambs Farm, science experiments, created under the sea animals, ate popsicles, cooking, movies, and other fun activities.  A special thanks to the teachers and staff for their hard work during the summer months and making our summer camp a success.        

The end of August also marks the beginning of a new school year for us with a lot of new children joining our MMDC family.  It is exciting for the children to be moving to their new class and making new friends. 

I cannot end the month of August without mentioning that August 31, 1870, was the birthday of Maria Montessori, founder of the Montessori Method which we use here at MMDC.  We will be celebrating her birthday on Friday, August 29^th.
