Even though the temperatures have been warm, fall is here! It seems that every child in the building knows that October leads to Halloween. They are already talking about the costumes they will wear when the go trick-or-treating. We have a lot of superheroes and princesses in the building along with a few doctors and police officers.

This month we are having fun with a pajama day when everyone shows off their favorite pj's. We spend a comfortable morning of reading stories by bringing our favorite book to class and we enjoy a special treat.

One thing I like about this time of year is how the children are curious about pumpkins. We decorate the front area with them, and I love hearing the children talk to their parents about the different sizes of pumpkins they see. This year we are going to decorate pumpkins, and they will be on display throughout the daycare for everyone to enjoy.

Of course, October will not be complete without a day when the children wear their Halloween costumes to show everyone how they will be dressed on the evening of Halloween. We have a small parade so they can show off their costumes, and they enjoy a nice Halloween party afterwards. October is a fun time, and it starts the beginning of our holiday season celebrations.
