Thankful

November

We had a good time celebrating Halloween here at Montessori & Music Daycare Center. The children came in costumes of superheroes, princesses, unicorns, police officers, storybook characters, and much more. The parade in the gym was very enjoyable as they showed off their costumes to the parents who attended the program and sang Halloween songs.

As I sit here at my desk listening to the sounds coming from the classrooms, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to be working here at Montessori & Music Daycare Center. For the month of November, we will be expressing the things for which we are thankful. We will have a tree of gratitude where the parents and children can write the things they are grateful for in their lives.

When World War I ended in 1918, it brought about what was originally known as Armistice Day, and later became known as Veterans Day. On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month an armistice was declared. For this reason, we observe Veteran’s Day on November 11th, as we pause to honor the veterans who have served our country. I am grateful for the brave men and women who served and remember the many that have died for the freedoms we enjoy today. Thank you, veterans!

Backwards Day will be on the 15th and should prove to be a fun day. This will be a first for some of the teachers and children, but we will make it fun.

In a few days, everyone will be gathering with friends and family to celebrate Thanksgiving as we pause to be thankful for the blessings we have received this year. We at MMDC want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!
