July 2023
Why do we celebrate the 4th of July? On July 4th, 1776 the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Continental Congress. Every July 4th, we celebrate the anniversary of this event that took place 247 years ago by gathering with family and friends, watching fireworks, attending parades, and eating. We hope everyone had a safe and happy celebration of American independence.
We are already into our fourth week of summer camp. This week we are continuing our theme on learning about our nation. We will enjoy a bounce house on Thursday and splash day on Friday.
As our month continues, we will celebrate weekly themes of: Week 5 – Safari Week with a puppet and magic show. Week 6 – Super Heroes Week with a visit from one of our favorite heroes. Week 7 – Young Artists week with a trip to the Lincolnshire Marriot Theatre. That week we will also be hosting our own art show, featuring the talents of every young artist in our building. Week 8 will close out the month by celebrating our summer favorites. The children will enjoy some nice, cool, refreshing summer treats that week.
We introduced a new event to our summer program and that is bicycle day. The children really enjoy riding on the parking lot on their bicycles with their friends. Some have even learned to ride without training wheels!
Whatever you find to do this summer, whether it is joining our summer program, going on a vacation, or staying at home, we hope you have a safe, happy, and healthy summer!
